Project Details

The Craigavon Community Greenway was for provision of an unbroken continuous pedestrian cycle route between Portadown train station and Lurgan train station, a total distance of 14km.

The works consisted of the installation of 4no. Toucan crossings, new vandal resistant lighting to 8no. Underpasses, street lighting to various location along path, the remodelling of pathway leading to an underpasses, installation of 2no. retaining walls 70m and 30m max height 1.8m, reshaping of banks/verges, the construction of 500m of pathway width 3.5m, the widening and resurfacing of approx. 2km of pathway, installation of 700m2 of tactile pavers, installation of new drainage to all underpasses, removal of existing and installation of new bollards at various locations, clearance of overgrown vegetation along entirety of route, removal and installation of new signage, painting of 5000m of delineation markings and 800 no. marking symbols along route. This also includes installation of 56 no. complementary embedded route markers forming an overall routing strategy, 1100m2 of anti-friction surfacing and the removal of paving flags and re-shaping with concrete slopes walls of underpasses.
